1. ATTIRE:

Outfits play a large part in your photographic experience, so make sure to pay close attention to what you are wearing. Most photographers allow for clothing changes during an engagement session, so take advantage of it and have fun! Normally speaking, 2-3 outfits is sufficient for an engagement session.

Try to keep your selections close to colors you'd find in nature, and select complimentary colors for you and your love....but do not match. Try to avoid black, fluorescent/neon colors, they tend to be very harsh and will clash with colors found in nature and probably your surroundings during your session.

DITCH THE JEANS! (At least for 1 outfit). These are your engagement images.....so Dream a little. Dress up and have fun, and steer clear of looking like your typical every day look.

Above all else, make sure you feel confident in your clothes and definitely be comfortable! If you feel unsure of your outfit or are uncomfortable in what you have chosen to wear, it WILL show! 

2. HAIR & MAKEUP:

Generally speaking, women's' hair normally looks better curled a little. A bit of curl flows naturally and moves easily. Most hairstylists recommend getting a hair cut about 2-3 weeks prior to a photography session, so plan accordingly.

Wear a " little"  more makeup than you normally do on a daily basis, it will photograph well and wont tend to wash you out. Whether you are doing your own makeup, or hiring someone to do it for you, make sure to have your makeup bag with you during your engagement session for touch-ups.

3. ADVENTURE PLEASE:

Use your engagement session to add a bit of flair to your life, go somewhere you want to remember! Be adventurous and get out and about! Want Cityscapes- lets take a drive to Austin or San Antonio, Want trees and hills- Lets go to Hill Country for some nature and serene beauty. Dream Big and let's make it happen.

I Hear ALL the time....I'm not photogenic, I don't take pictures well- But TRUST ME, We'll Change that!

It is completely normal for couples to feel awkward and uncomfortable in front of the camera in the beginning. Thats why our engagement sessions are not 30 minutes long! But its amazing the results that occur as they become more comfortable as the session progresses. With some distraction, prompting & laughs, you will end up looking like a people we all dream to be. So TRUST ME- you will too!
